Champagne Marguet Père & Fils
Shawbury Vintners is proud to be selling these highly regarded Champagne’s produced with such skill and care by 5th Generation - Benoît Marguet.
Located in Ambonnay, nestled amongst the cities of Reims, Epernay and Châlons-en-Champagne. Champagne Marguet Père et Fils is the result of the marriage in 2005 of two respected Champagne houses, Champagne Marguet (1875) and Champagne Bonnerave Frères (1905).
In 2009 Benoît converted the vineyards (in Ambonnay and Bouzy, both Grand Cru) to biodynamic farming. As such he is committed to organic working and other aspects of biodynamics involving working by the phases of the moon. Where possible there is close involvement in the viticultural side of all his supply. No herbicides or pesticides are used.
Benoît has become well known in a relatively short time as both a talented winemaker and innovator in organics.
All this aside, he’s become well known for creating exceptional Champagne.
